Frequently asked
Good questions.
What kinds of concerns can I schedule Medical Care for?+
Medical Care visits are designed for patients who want a thoughtful evaluation of a health concern or simply need more time to discuss their health. Common reasons include fatigue, sleep concerns, asthma, reviewing laboratory results, preventive care, medication questions, second opinions, unexplained symptoms, and general health check-ins. If you're unsure which appointment to book, this is often the best place to start.
Is Medical Care the same as primary care?+
Not exactly. While we can manage many common medical concerns and often become an important part of your healthcare team, we aren't intended to replace every aspect of a traditional primary care practice.
Are you my primary care provider?+
Not in the traditional sense. We provide personalized medical care for many of the health concerns you'd typically discuss with a primary care provider—including preventive care, common medical conditions, and chronic disease management—but with longer visits and a focus on understanding the whole picture. If your care requires a specialist or services outside our scope, we'll help coordinate the next steps and connect you with the right provider.
Can you manage chronic conditions?+
We frequently help patients manage conditions such as asthma, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, sleep concerns, and other common medical issues. If specialized care is needed, we'll coordinate referrals when appropriate.
Can we talk about hormones during a Medical Care visit?+
Absolutely. Many patients schedule Medical Care because they're experiencing symptoms that may be related to hormones, thyroid function, metabolism, nutrition, or healthy aging. We'll determine what evaluation is appropriate and develop a plan together.
Can I use my insurance?+
Many Medical Care visits can be billed to insurance, and we are actively expanding our insurance participation. If we're not in-network with your plan, we can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Self-pay appointments are always available, and we're happy to help you understand your options before scheduling.
What should I bring to my Medical Care visit?+
Bring any recent laboratory results, a current medication list (including supplements), and—most importantly—the questions you actually want answered. We encourage patients to come prepared so we can make the most of our time together. You don't need to have everything figured out before you arrive—that's what we're here to help with.
